Sara Staley was born and raised here in Idaho Falls. She’s number 6 out of 6 kids and loves spending time with her family. She also loves to travel with two of her favorite trips being to Denver, CO, and Chicago, IL.
She pursued higher education in Rexburg, studying at Brigham Young University—Idaho. She received a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and an associate degree in Professional Preschool Education. Mrs. Staley is also currently working towards a certification in elementary education.
A few of her favorite things include Olive Garden, Dr. Pepper, and Sour Patch - Watermelon. She also collects children’s books with Dr. Seuss and Kevin Henkes being two of her favorite authors.
Mrs. Staley has always loved kids but hasn’t always considered pursuing a career in teaching. In fact, she really struggled in school, having difficulties in reading and in connecting the dots or seeing the big picture. She always worked twice as hard as her peers, asking plenty of questions to make sure she stayed on top of her coursework.
Because of the difficult experience she had in school, she has worked really hard to foster a classroom of safe risk-taking, where her students can feel comfortable learning by making mistakes.
