Rachel Nielsen is from Shelley, Idaho. She was raised on a small hobby farm. That just means she spent her summers weeding a 3-acre garden, moving pipe in the alfalfa, and playing with her siblings in the field.
One thing Rachel has always loved is teaching and helping others to achieve their full potential. She loves seeing students’ eyes light up as things make sense and they begin to truly understand. Her goal is to help each student value others and strive to live principled and caring lives.
Nearly 21 years ago Rachel spent 1 ½ years in Ecuador, where she truly learned Spanish and grew to love the people. Since then she has continued to nurture her Spanish abilities. She is thrilled to be able to combine two of her passions in life, teaching and Spanish!
Rachel graduated from BYU in 2002 with a BA in Humanities. She then worked at a child abuse prevention and family support center before marrying and starting her family.
Family is very important to Rachel and she and her husband work hard to support their children in their endeavors as well as the rest of their large extended family.
