Meet Lea Hartman
Lea Hartman was born and raised in Long Beach, California. Her parents retired to Idaho Falls, ID in May of 2019 and after multiple visits with her family, she fell in love with the area. She knew the community, landscape and values of the area were how she and her husband wanted to raise their two young boys. Lea, her husband and their two young boys moved to Blackfoot, ID in June of 2021 so they could ultimately build the life they wanted for their family. In her spare time, she loves rollerblading, BMX racing with the family, hiking and anything outdoors. She loves being busy and living life through experiences!
Lea received her Bachelor's in Arts - Liberal Studies and Teaching Credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills. After graduating college, she moved to Victoria, TX where she took a position as a Police Officer. She completed the Police Officer Academy for the state and met her husband, Brent, shortly thereafter. After many encounters with children and realizing they all had one thing in common, wishing for a teacher who was there to support them on good days and bad days, she decided to go back to her first love, teaching. Lea worked in South Central Los Angeles up until the time she moved to Blackfoot.
Lea is looking forward to bringing her enthusiasm, hard working and dedicated attitude to Alturas International Academy. She values a well rounded student who is not only academically prepared but ready to venture out into the real world. She is excited to meet the students and puts a huge emphasis on relationship building with not only with them and the staff but the families as well. In her classroom, she treats all children like her own. Her oldest son, Colton, will be starting kindergarten at Alturas as well. Lea is so excited to meet you all and cannot wait for the future ahead.
