Meet Christina Barber
Christina Barber was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She and her husband Travis have made Idaho Falls their home and their two sons, Will and Drew were both born here. In her free time Mrs. Barber enjoys being with family and friends as well as anything active and outdoors. Some of her favorite activities are paddle boarding, hiking, gardening, family bike rides, skiing, and playing frisbee with her dog Wyatt.
Mrs. Barber earned a BA in Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish from Florida Atlantic University. She also studied in Salamanca, Spain and spent some time in Nicaragua. She taught for eight years in South Florida and has taught K-5 Spanish and Kindergarten at Alturas International since the opening year, 2016.
Mrs. Barber wants all students to have a positive and successful experience and feel loved and cared for. When students have a safe, consistent, and collaborative learning environment they can reach their fullest potential. She believes getting to know each of her students and their families is also key to helping them thrive.
Mrs. Barber is excited to be incorporating Spanish into the Alturas Kindergarten program. This year students will build a foundation that they will add onto each year at Alturas. She is happy to be part of the Alturas International Academy team.
