Jerrick Walker was born in Cleveland, Ohio but lived in various cities throughout his childhood, including Pleasant Grove, Utah; St. Cloud, Florida; and Casa Grande, Arizona. Mr. Walker spent his teenage years participating in his favorite sports: football, soccer, and wrestling. He spent his summers working as a cowboy on a cattle ranch and winters raising pigs for 4-H in order to stay busy. It is safe to say Mr. Walker has a plethora of exciting stories to tell his students.
In addition to these fun childhood experiences, Mr. Walker has created new memories with his wife, Courtney, and daughter, Theadosia. He and his wife are expecting a son, as well. His family is his biggest support and greatest achievement.
Mr. Walker’s educational journey began with the intent to earn a business degree. However, while living in Mexico, he found his passion for history, specifically European contact with the Americas. With this newfound passion, Mr. Walker decided to leave business and pursue a career in history education and has not looked back.
Mr. Walker is thrilled to be joining the Alturas team this year. Go Lobos!
