Candise Gilbert - President

Candise loves children and values exceptional education. She attended Snow College and Utah State University, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. Her university studies were interspersed with volunteer educational opportunities which took her to Russia, China and Australia. Candise spent some time in the classroom before making home and children the focus of her energies. She has been involved in the process of Alturas since its inception and is thrilled with the educational opportunities it provides her children and others in the community. Candise splits her time between motherhood, church service, school involvement, adoption education, and teaching piano lessons. She loves to make cookies, make dinner, and make things happen.

Collin is one of the founders of Alturas and is currently the mortgage manager for New Penn Financial. He has been in the mortgage industry since 2006. He worked at Idaho Central Credit Union for seven of those years and worked with them to help secure the financing for the O. E. Bell building. He owns three real estate holding companies that hold both long term and vacation rentals. He also owns a capital company that he runs in his spare time. He graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Collin met his lovely wife, Kristel, while working at Jacob Lake near the Grand Canyon in between college semesters.  They have been happily married since 2002 and have four daughters and two sons ranging in ages from 2-14. Their youngest son was born the day Alturas got approved by the State to become a charter.

Christine Ogden - Secretary

Christine was born in Pocatello, Idaho and has lived in Idaho Falls for most of her life. She graduated from Bonneville High School and attended Idaho State University before having the unique experience to work as the administrative assistant for the President and CEO of Melaleuca. Christine and her husband, Tyler, have three children, all of whom attend Alturas. Since having their first child, she has been a stay at home parent, which has allowed her the opportunity to volunteer in many capacities at her children’s schools over the years. After hearing about this school in its infancy stage, she was more than happy to help in any way she could and has served on the board since 2015. Christine enjoys spending time with her family on the lake and in the mountains, and will never turn down a good organizing project.

Kevan recently returned to Idaho Falls after spending the last decade working for a startup company in Seattle, WA. Previous to his stint in Seattle, he worked for the Idaho National Laboratory from 1998 to 2007. He graduated from American Falls High School (Idaho), received a BS in physics from Brigham Young University, and a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Utah.
